Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The winners of each region have their artwork displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol Building.
On May 5, 2022, we had the pleasure of being invited to judge this year’s local Congressional Art Competition hosted by the office of Veronica Escobar along with fellow artist Paulina Rosas and local art professors at the El Paso Community Foundation Gallery at Roderick Artspace Lofts.

We reviewed and judged over 110 entries, ultimately awarding first place to Taylor Mollohan from Bel Air High School for her artwork Mi Querido Viejo.

Second place was awarded to Sarah Maul from Eastwood High School for her artwork Carolina. Third place to Analee Carrejo from Bel Air High School for her artwork Happiness.
