"Respectfully, don't stop me in public while I am going about my business to ask me what type of illness, condition, or accident has "tragically" befallen me, don't try to guess any of these out loud and make me play along, don't infantilize me by talking to me like a child and calling me adorable, don't pity me with your sympathetic looks, don't give me shocked expressions when I tell you about an accomplishment, don't proudly declare you will pray for the miracle recovery you invented in your mind that you think is my ultimate desire in life I desperately yearn for, don't patronize me for doing everyday tasks you deem impressive for "someone like me," and especially, do not direct your question about me or how to accommodate me to anyone else but me.
I promise you that I am just an adult woman who just happens to need to sit down a lot of the time and is very capable of most things you can do and even some that you can't. ❤️"
